Wiki Updates & Announcements

Stormie is doing maintenance and office organizing work, and has an email office@lareunioncoop.org for maintenance-related or office-related things.

Laundry room is done!

Agenda Item 1

(Logan) I'd like to ask permission to stow mine and Nynke's stuff in the garage while we're gone.

Point of interest: Can another member keep the things?

Frog: We want to keep heirlooms and things we can’t lose.

Point of interest: It’d be useful to have the maintenance coordinator's input, as the garage space is for maintenance.

Point of interest: A timeframe would be good.

Frog: In the ballpark of a year, maybe less.

Point of interest: I don’t want members to store stuff in the commons as a rule.

Concerns / friendly amendments

POI: I don’t think you should store heirlooms and things you can’t lose in the commons. You should find a friend to stash your things with. And a year is a long time.

Clarifying question: Could you stash a box or two with several friends?

Tabled.

Agenda Item 2

(Robbie) I'd like to request an extended, modified payment plan in order to recover my overdue balance with the co-op.

Robbie: Work fell off for a couple months. I have a recovery plan worked out in a spreadsheet, I just need a little wiggle room. I am not requesting that the late fees get removed, but I need another month to get caught up and can then start paying money off.

Russ, bookkeeper: The balance is $1364 right now. Lease expires July. That would be 4 payments, starting in April, so $341. We could also sign a new longer contract.

Robbie: I’d like to start making payments by April 15th. I’m also happy to sign a longer contract, which would make things less tight. I just need time to make up the lost income.

Russ: We could sign a year-long contract, April-April, which would bring payments to $114.

Robbie: I’ll pay it off long before the end of the year at that rate!

Approved.

New business

Dwain wants bug spray and his outlets replaced or inspected - “some of them are hot sometimes.”

Clarifying question: What happened to the beautiful tree in the corner near our unit?

POI: It was frozen and too tall and we cut it down.

Clarifying question: And the rose bush?

POI: It was aggressively pruned by someone who sent out emails and learned how to prune roses professionally.

Philip, grounds coordinator: I don’t have enough grounds people doing their labor, just Jess & Lorenzo. Losing McAllen hurts. Anyone wanna do grounds?
