10/4/26 meeting minutes were approved.

Wiki Updates & Announcements

Bernard: the commons kitchen is opening back up for commons meals. HOWEVER: if a cook does not have a dcu person assigned to the night you cook, you must clean up after yourself.

Beryl: if you want to help with dcu, please reach out to me so i can schedule you!

Agenda Items

Note: $ must be escaped by preceding with a \. Example: \$100

(gabe) request a stipend on rent due ongoing maintenance issues in 106 shower causing problems accessing a shower regularly and interfering with ability to prepare for work

Gabe: yeah, i know its in the process of being worked on, but its been over a month.

Beryl: how much of a stipend were you looking for?

Gabe: no more than like a hundred bucks,

Maggie: we could maybe agree with a contingent that we reach out to a finance officer and offer some options?

richard: the prefena precedent for this type of thing in regards to failure to provide a contractual obligation

Reyna: there is precedent in texas state law, and i think the amount he is asking for is reasonable; i do like the idea of at least agreeing to honor it even if we need to double check with a finance officer to confirm how exactly we do it.

Beryl: strawpoll to, pending approval of the financial advisor, approve $100 off Gabe's rent next month

poll passes unanimously.

New business

Reyna: lots of folks shuffling units in the next few months!

Diana: is there anything we can do about plumbers being slow and not showing up?

Toast: unfortunately it is the nature of contractors. either we pay a LOT more into the co-op in rent for same day plumbers or we save literal thousands of dollars on plumbers who still do good work.

Kate: they also do a better job and more work for the lower prices they charge; it is much more worth it for us to work with BATS plumbing

Reyna: if you are having ongoing maintenance issues it may be worth it to ask for a rent credit; unlike complexes that have round the clock skilled maintenance (bc they charge an arm and a leg in rent) our maintenance team is mostly just like. whoever lives here…

Diana: it sounds like we should recruit a plumber to move in here…

Reyna: true.
