Wiki Updates & Announcements
Ivy: Our NASCO Properties (NP) Board Rep is opening up, so we’ll be having a new election for that in coordination with Sasona. We plan to have the election at GMM, but nominations are open for 3 days initially and will roll if there aren’t any nominations. You’re signing up for three-yearly in-person meetings and monthly digital meetings. You’ll be CHEA’s representative to our larger co-operative organization, and will work with house members and the CHEA board. Historically people running have written a little blurb about themselves. The election will be ranked-choice voting, which I’m happy to introduce to people if they’re curious.
Agenda Items
Agenda Item 1
(Steward) Officer Reports
Colby, events: Pool party for July-August birthdays! August the 6th, Wednesday, 2-3 pm. There’ll be carpooling organizing to a free pool with a deep end, then we’ll return for refreshments. Water pistols? Open to everyone.
Kate, treasurer: Nothing unusual. We paid some contractors. I haven’t categorized all the receipts, but I’ve received them all. You can no-show me for that if you want. Nobody’s spending over their budget. There are a couple people who are behind on payments.
Beryl, maintenance: I know getting contractors out here has been slow. I’ve got people to call for the dryer, for the traps. There’s a big todo list, but we’ll get it done. We’ve got a bid to replace the soffit, but that’s waiting on communication with David, our operations manager. A full soffit replacement for the entire property is about $70k. That’s replacing the current boards with cement board and the struts as well.
Clarifying question: We paid half for the dryer parts?
Beryl: The ignition board was busted and he needed a part. He’s part of a larger company; I don’t think he’s scamming us. We haven’t reached out to him yet.
Leah, board: CHEA’s paid up on bills, except we need to settle with NASCO Properties, so we are holding onto extra money for that. We’re getting ready for GMM.
Ivy, board: Echoing what Leah said. Plus NP Board Rep elections. We need to contact insurance soon as well.
Richard, labor: I have enough information to put out a new labor chart tomorrow. I recently got the whole up-to-date membership list. There are still people who I need to contact, but I’m going to post the chart anyway. If you have any questions about labor, feel free to email me.
Reyna, membership: Rooms are still largely full. Waitlist is large. Contracts are mostly updated for the rent increase, maybe 5 left. We’re still trying to place someone in 104, it’s a hard sell.
Tif, bookkeeper: We’ve got people on the notice-to-vacate list. We’ve got 7 people on payment plans. I need to digitize the payment plans. Don should be paid up by the end of the month. Please buy quarters from me! I’m not usually home in the late morning and early afternoon, but you can text me to see when I’m home.
Frog, steward: Nominations for NP Board Rep are up. We’ve reached out to people who need payment plans - check your email.
Bernard, kitchen: We’re keeping the kitchen clean. I like that.
No report from food buyer.
New business
Point of information: If you’re cooking in the commons, don’t just leave the door open - that’s expensive for the AC. You can aim a fan from the kitchen out the door, that’ll work. Being more diligent here will go a long way.
POI: As long as the fan is put away and the window closed eventually.

POI: Don’t let random people use your phone. They have phone→phone scanning apps that can steal personal information from your phone. Be mindful.
