Wiki Updates & Announcements

Joy: I changed the labor descriptions for commons clean and laundry room clean.

Agenda Items

(Steward) Officer Reports

Bernard, kitchen: Things are going well. The fridges are not being cleaned. The fly traps have been cleaned out. Stuff’s being stored in containers.

Kate, treasurer: Our paid bookkeeper has sent in our back reimbursements and receipts. We’re sorting out how much we owe NASCO. We’re getting into budget season. We need to get the budget done by June, and have everyone sign new contracts in June so we can increase the rent in July. NASCO is having a meeting about their side of the budget today.

Cory, financial control officer: I’ve made some estimates. The board’s considering 3 proposals - basic, basic + giving our operations manager a pay raise, basic + raise + more staff hours - respectively, $12, $15, and $32. These are BALLPARK numbers, NOT hard numbers. We’re working on sharing our Amazon Prime account with the tax info with Sasona.

Echo, board: We made a new timesheet for David, and we’re working on the budget and other things.

Gardenia, board: I’ve got access to the email. We’re having meetings. Thanks for voting for me to be your HR officer.

Colby, events: Thanks for everyone who helped with the birthday party. The first part was a cluster, and I’m sorry for that. The party was more involved than I intended, and changed functions partway through.

Richard, maintenance: We’re having some plumbing leaks. Shoring up the windows in the south wall will help. I’ve heard #207 also has issues. I’ve purchased some things working with Kate. We think the squirrels have access since we still need to seal the fascia. David’s supposed to do that. He’s also doing something with a master electrician after the electrical tree incident. The commons AC is still leaking.

Tif, bookkeeper: Going good. We have 6 people on payment plans.

Reyna, membership coordinator: Remy is a new member. #205 is inhabitable so someone will be there by the 1st. I still don’t have someone for Dwain’s roommate. I’ve joined the official Slack.

Joy, labor: Labor’s good. Gabe’s doing stuff. Bernard mentioned the fridge cleans already, but I’ve noticed the outdoor area cleans also not getting done. I don’t think anyone’s doing poop-scooping in the front. We have many cooks now, at least four. I’ve been talking to people individually about changes but I’ll send out an updated labor chart soon. This month’s labor report will have 5 months - that’ll be out by May 3rd. PLEASE sign off if you helped with the birthday party - I don’t know how to give you credit otherwise.

(corey) Add the the Events coordinator officer description that:

Events coordinator, or their designee, must attend any events they coordinate on behalf of the co-op for the entire event duration.

Tabled.

(Steward) Discuss Pickles' notice to vacate

Pickles (in statement): I intended to attend the last meeting, but I found out my grandfather died that day. I put $400 towards my debt. I texted the bookkeeper, but I don’t know how to post an agenda and I don’t know who other officers are.

Point of information: The officer emails don’t change, so you can always email those.

Pickles: I intend to pay what I owe. I’m sorry.

Kate, treasurer: I didn’t file the notice to vacate for too long. There’s a template now, which will make it easier.

Point of information: Before that payment you hadn’t paid us anything since the end of November.

Pickles: I plan to pay it off as soon as possible.

Point of information: There was a five-months lump amount in a payment plan, but that payment plan wasn’t valid because Pickles was under a notice to vacate.

Clarifying question: How much is owed now?

POI: $2260 - 400 is $1860.

CQ: The payment plan was how much a month?
POI: About an extra $200 a month.

POI: The payment plan also wasn’t valid because Pickles wasn’t under contract.

Pickles: My other payments got reduced and I got a lump sum. I get paid this Thursday. I’ve been moving up in my position in a growing company.

CQ: Would it be possible to pay off with that lump sum?
Pickles: I think I could pay it off in 3 weeks.

POI: If we rescind the notice, the month-to-month contract will still be in place, so we could file a notice to vacate at the normal date of the 21st of next month. So you’ll need to pay more than $2000 by next month.

Pickles: I understand. I think I can do it.

Notice to vacate rescinded, Pickles has until May 21st to get in good financial standing.

New business

Sasona’s will be having a grant-writing committee on Thursday May 1st at Sasona. They invited us!

POI: Let’s set up a remote call-in so more interested people can make it.
