This has happened repeatedly, maybe once a year - the machine icing over because people use it too hard and it floods the AC cabinet. Cranking the AC down to make it cool faster doesn’t work. I want to spend $250 on a thermostat with temperature sensors and a lower temperature limit and a password. Hopefully this will leave the AC more reliable and long-lasting. We could probably get a small rebate from Austin Energy too. Also, if we ever set up two ACs in this unit, I think we could connect them both to this thermostat. It could reasonably come out of maintenance or miscellaneous budget. |
